Northern B.C. youth may consult with psychiatrists by teleconference

Before 2011, a psychiatrically troubled young man or woman in Prince Rupert and other northern communities would wait an excessively long time for an appointment with a specialist. Then a pilot project in teleconferencing was attempted — and declared a success. The Ministry of Health has now expanded its teleconferencing program to other northwestern B.C. communities.
